This past Saturday our Coventry Homes team celebrated our 11th annual Paws and Claws Gala – a chance to recognize our partnership with the Edmonton Humane Society (EHS).
Our most exciting event of the year didn’t disappoint, as more than 400 guests joined us at the Edmonton Expo Centre to support this worthy cause. Building on last year’s million dollar success, this year was to be better than ever before! With longstanding sponsors and new donors joining us for our 11th year, there was no doubt we would be able to make this the most electrifying event to date.
Our returning MC’s for the evening, Graham Neil & Donovan, brought their usual antics to the evening. This dynamic duo kept the crowd laughing through the night and took on the roles of auctioneers for our live auction. This year’s most sought-after item was without a doubt the Elton John Farewell Tour Package for four. This exclusive package includes dinner and drinks at LUX Steakhouse + Bar to kick off the evening, then loge seating at Rogers Place for the sold out Farewell Yellow Brick Road concert, followed by two suites at the new JW Marriott Hotel in the ICE District and Spa services the following day!
As the live music is always a hit of the event, we were thrilled to have JUNO award-winning recording artist Clayton Bellamy providing the evening’s entertainment! Offering up the music of Tom Petty, he kept the crowd engaged, singing and dancing along with him. The night’s tunes and delicious food were accompanied by multiple occasions to donate to the Edmonton Humane Society – a 50/50 raffle, an extensive silent auction, a new table Centerpiece raffle, and the popular Adopt-a-Stuffie Raffle all made it easy for guests to support the EHS.
The Paws and Claws Gala also featured some furry guests of honor – adorable animals from the EHS that guests were able to spend time with throughout the night. The opportunity to meet just a few of the animals in need of a fur-ever home shines the spotlight on how important the EHS really is. Providing a safe space for animals and continuing their leadership in animal welfare is what defines the EHS, and the funds raised by the Paws and Claws Gala goes towards the enrichment of the programs and services they provide.
On behalf of our President and CEO, Henri Rodier, and our entire Coventry team, we would like to extend our heart-filled thanks to everyone who has helped and supported our fundraising efforts for the Edmonton Humane Society. Thank you for another successful year!

Falling interest rates have opened new opportunities for homebuyers to start dreaming of owning their dream home, and the possibility that Bank of Canada interest rates will be slashed even more this year is something those looking to get into the market should keep an eye on.
